What explains the U.S. government's support of Israel? On the next Your Call, we welcome Stephen Walt, professor of International Affairs at Harvard University and co-author of the new book, The Israel Lobby. The book explores why there is so little disagreement about Israel among American politicians. Stephen Walt argues that unconditional support for the Jewish state is heavily influenced by the powerful Israeli lobby in the U.S. and in the end, he says it's bad for both countries.
