I'm interested to hear the Globe and Mail's coverage of The British papers. You have to remember that each paper is extremely partisan, so you have to read a broad spectrum, and then make up your own mind.
ReplyDeleteRather than get into a debate about the Guardian. When it was The Manchester Guardian, it was most certainly a Labour endorser. Since it moved to London in The 60's t has supported The Liberal view much more closely.
ReplyDeleteIan, the only other time the Guardian endorsed anything other than the Labour Party was 1983, when it backed the Liberal/Social Democrat coalition that later became the Lib Dems.
ReplyDeleteYou have to go back to 1955, when it was a Manchester paper, to find a non-Labour endorsement. Its sister Sunday paper the Observer has been more variegated.
