Let me point out that you don't know for sure when you graduate what Your Field is. The field I excelled in and spent 20 years at didn't exist in that form when I graduated. Everybody in this conversation assumes that what you decide is your career in college is what you'll do forever; baloney. I know a guy with no college degree who taught himself digital microscopy on a relatively menial job <i>in his sixties</i>.
